Eros is one of the original Greek immortals. He is Love. He came before Zeus and the Olympians and yet he must obey Zeus in all ways. Eros did not try to help poor Odysseus because love couldn’t sway Poseidon from his anger. To complicate things even more, Poseidon was blinded by love just as his son had been blinded by Odysseus.
