He was loved by the goddess of the Dawn, Eos, and for this, he was punished by Artemis, who swooped down and slew him painlessly with a silver arrow. As a ’reward’ for being struck down, Orion was given a place in the heavens as a mighty constellation. He now walks the heavens as the giant and hunter he was on earth in the age of Heroes.
